INTRODUCTION

There is an expressed desire for certification in both a personal capacity and/or in a company capacity and to be registered in the use of the Nonex™ Rock Breaking Technology.

A training course has been developed as an introduction in the procedures for all persons who are required, in their employment, to safely handle and work with Nonex™.

The first step in this regard is to enroll and attend the Nonex™ Training and Certification Course in Pretoria East.

COURSE CONTENT

The focus of the training will be to address the following basic aspects:

  • Analysis and interpretation of rock.
  • Drilling patterns in terms of burden, spacing, depth and charge selection.
  • Safe operating including a 100% fail-safe matting procedure that covers the actual blast area.
  • More advanced, complex applications, such as rock breaking in open areas, and built-up areas, etc.

THE COURSE IS BOTH A THEORETICAL AND A PRACTICAL TRAINING COURSE:

  • Two days are devoted to each phase with homework/studying time required for evenings.
  • The study requirement is in preparation for the two written examinations. One of the examinations is on the applicable Explosives Regulations of the Inspectorate of Explosives. The regulations relate to the acquisition, storage, transportation and use of Nonex™.

Safety items such as hard hat, dust mask, earplugs, and safety glasses, required for the practical training, will be supplied and learners will also receive the necessary training manuals, which will become their property for future reference.

We also cover the business and commercial aspects so that by the end of the course, successful applicants are not only certificated and registered to use the product, but also have the opportunity of being appointed by Nxco to contract using Nonex™, or to just simply use it in in-house applications.

The course is not intended to make the learner an overnight expert.

It will, however, provide learners with an excellent base on which to build on-going experience. Should a potential job be found that is extremely challenging to cost or to carry out, we, as trainers and as consultants, will be available to render assistance.

WHAT TO BRING

Learners are requested to bring the following items:

  • Copy of ID;
  • Police clearance certificate that is not older than 3 months;
  • Two passport photographs;
  • Blasting Certificate;
  • Divers license;
  • Safety boots;
  • Working clothes (overalls or jeans will do); and
  • Sun block for the practical training.
