THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR ENTRANTS INTO THE MARKET ON AN INTRODUCTORY LEVEL AND AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION THE CANDIDATE WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Have a good insight into the history and development of explosives through the ages
- Explain differences between different types of explosives
- Explain the basic concept of chemical explosives
- Be able to classify different explosives according to their reaction rates and explain the difference between them
- Describe different performance parameters that can be used to define a particular explosive
- Explain the initiation and propagation of combustion reactions in different explosives
- Be informed about some of the ways these principles are applied in industry
